D23: Will the Force be strong for AHSOKA’s second season?

Modern Star Wars has had mixed critical success on the screen – the tv shows often good at the VFX and world-building but not consistently capturing the expected audience, Andor was deep and meaningful (and sadly quite timely) while The Mandalorian was more the Saturday-Matinee tone of old. One success story making it to a second season is Ahsoka, featuring the lightsaber wielding Ahsoka Tano –  a character who was the padawan apprentice to the young Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars animated movie and series and also the subsequent Star Wars: Rebels. In live-action form the character is, of course, played by Rosario Dawson who debuted her faithful version in The Mandalorian.

The second season of Ahsoka picks up the various threads from the cliffhanger ending of the first run and also has to deal with the sad death of actor Ray Stevenson who passed away in May 2023, just before the first season aired and the need to recast the role of Baylor. In this new run, Rory McCann (Game of Thrones) takes over the role.

Ahsoka: Season Two will debut on Disney+ on 20th January 2027
