SDCC NEWS: LANTERNS gets illuminating trailer…

Green is definitely the colour of this year’s San Diego Comic Con. As well as being the official hue of Avengers: Doomsday, the event also gave HBO Max the opportunity to promote next month’s release of Lanterns, the DCU newly-minted tale of the Green Lantern Corps.

The series stars Kyle Chandler as resident hero Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, the man he is training to follow him into the cosmic police force. The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald as Kerry (a local sheriff who doesn’t welcome the Lanterns interference, Banshee‘s Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, the famously egotistical Lantern who we’ve already met in last year’s Superman movie. The series explores the deadly consequences when Jordan and Stewart investigate an occurrence in a small town that could have an extraterrestrial origin.

Lanterns will begin its run on Sunday, 16th August, 2026 (on HBO Max in  the US) and Monday, 17th August, 2026, in other regions.
